Inflammation and Chronic Disease

Inflammation influences many aspects of your physical and emotional health. Whether you are dealing with ADD/ADHD, diabetes, heart disease, obesity, pain, peripheral neuropathy, stroke, migraines, thyroid issues, dental issues, or cancer then you are dealing with inflammation.

Most of us are shocked to hear this. We usually think of inflammation as heat or swelling, but it is more complex than that. Inflammation (from Latin inflammatio) is part of the complex biological response of body tissues to harmful stimuli, such aspathogens, damaged cells, or irritants,and is a protective response involving immune cellsblood vessels, and molecular mediators. The function of inflammation is to eliminate the initial cause of cell injury, clear out necrotic cells and tissues damaged from the original insult and the inflammatory process, and to initiate tissue repair.

The classical signs of inflammation are heat, pain, redness, swelling, and loss of function. Inflammation is a generic response, and therefore it is considered as a mechanism of innate immunity, as compared to adaptive immunity, which is specific for each pathogen.[2] Too little inflammation could lead to progressive tissue destruction by the harmful stimulus (e.g. bacteria) and compromise the survival of the organism. In contrast, chronic inflammation may lead to a host of diseases, such as hay feverperiodontitis,atherosclerosisrheumatoid arthritis, and even cancer (e.g., gallbladder carcinoma). Inflammation is therefore normally closely regulated by the body. There are also many health problems that are a response to  inflammmation

Many  of us are suffering from one or more of these disorders but have no idea how to eliminate inflammation. Most doctors are utilizing pharmaceuticals in lieu of getting to the root cause.

It often seems extremely foreign to most people when they realize the majority of inflammatory diseases start in the gut with an autoimmune reaction which progresses into systemic inflammation. To truly be effective at managing or hopefully overcome a disease it needs to be addressed on all levels. Taking a look at where this process starts is the key.

General Info: Bone broths, broths and stocks are nutrient-dense They’re extraordinarily rich in protein, and they also contain easily absorbed minerals like calcium and phosphorus. Many people do not eat meat or poultry but do it fish. Boil the bones, add little cider vinegar and simmer for a few hours. Strain out the broth and add vegetable.

Reductionism in massage is the most popular of theories for solving
muscular problems through formal scientific methods.
Massage reductionism presents the idea that any massage or bodywork system, no matter how complex can be understood by reducing it to its most basic units. Thus, from the reductionist perspective, the basics of massage can be found in the relationship between muscle, ligaments, tendons, bones etc. and the basics of biology, which is part of most formal massage therapy training can be understood through the essential elements found through chemistry and biology. Reductionism defines much of what has come to be known as the classical scientific approach to massage.

   How does the Theory of Reductionism contradict the theory of Holism?” Reductionism says that if we can understand what is basic in a system, than we can understand what is complex. Holism tells us that nothing is as it seems in a system, since that basic thing you can isolate will still be influenced by every other unit in the system.

In reductionism what you see is what you get but most massage therapists are likely to say that there is much more going on between the lines. In Holism the sum may end up being greater than the parts.
